The D-Day Landings Tour
4 Days / 3 Nights
This was the last great invasion of the WW2. The scene was setwith the Nazi army stretched right across most of mainlandEurope and the Allies pondering how to turn the tide. The eventsthat took place on the 6th June 1944 were to change the course ofhistory.
DAY 1
Depart from the school early morning for the UK ferry port. Arrive in Caen (or the town of your choice) early evening. Time to settle in and explore the local area. Dinner in your accommodation.
Day 2
After breakfast the first stop will be the Memorial Peace Museum in Caen. You can then re-trace the soldiers’ steps starting with a visit to the Pegasus Memorial site, where the first British soldiers landed on 5th June 1944. Travelling west you’ll then see the famous Sword, Juno & Gold beaches before arriving in Arromanches, the scene of Mulberry Harbour. Here, a visit to the Landings Museum and the 360 theatre is a must!
Day 3
Today you’ll travel south to the village of Falaise, the stage for the final battle of Normandy. You’ll get the chance to visit the August 1944 Museum and the Montormel Memorial & Museum.
Day 4
Time to collect last minute gifts before returning back to the UK late morning.
